What are Restylane and Hydrafill?
Restylane and Hydrafill are synthetic dermal fillers. The main ingredient of these two fillers is hyaluronic acid, a biosynthesized version of one of the body's own natural substances.
As the body ages, its levels of hyaluronic acid decrease. As a result the skin becomes thinner and less supple. Restylane and Hydrafill restores volume to the skin where hyaluronic acid has decreased.
What does the treatment involve?
At the first consultation, the doctor will discuss your medical history, suitability for the treatment, and your expectations of the fillers' cosmetic effect.

How long does the treatment last?
Most dermal fillers last between 6 and 12 months. This can depend on lifestyle, skin type or age.
Are there any side effects to this treatment?
Restylane and Hydrafill are very safe treatments. Afterwards your lips will be swollen and tender for about 24 hours, but will quickly settle. Occasionally small lumps may be felt along the lip border but these tend to settle within a week and are not visible.
Restylane and Hydrafill have been approved by the US Federal Drug Agency, which means they have been subjected to the most stringent testing.
Can anyone have dermal fillers?
Treatment should be avoided if the skin is inflamed or infected, or if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. If you are prone to cold sores it is recommended that you use an anti-herpes cream to reduce the likelihood of an outbreak.
