Some Beauty Treatments Without Surgery
Glycolic peels rejuvenate and freshen up your skin after a summer of sun exposure or probable damaged skin. Glycolic acid, derived from sugar cane, stimulates new skin growth by sloughing off the surface dead skin cells. Over a course of treatments, skin will appear smoother and fresher. Pores will look tighter and smaller. Your spots and acne will improve dramatically as pores will be unblocked and the skin will be less oily. Fine lines may appear better and your skin is generally better.
This is a prescription-only, strong glycolic peel, licensed for physician use only. The skin should be treated with home skin care products containing a mild glycolic acid for 2 weeks before the treatment, this will help prepare the skin and promote healing afterwards. During the procedure, the skin is cleansed with a pre-peel solution and then the glycolic peel ispainted onto the skin. It is left on for 1 or 2 minutes initially and then cleansed off. You may experience a slight prickling sensation during the treatment. Afterwards the skin may be slightly flushed and mild flaking may occur after a few days.
Generally a series of 6 applications administered weekly is recommended, however single treatments regularly can also achieve excellent results.
Sclerotherapy for Thread Vein Removal
Thread veins (or telangiectasia) are small superficial red, purple or blue veins which may appear anywhere on the body, but most commonly on the face and legs. They occur when the vein dilates and become large enough to be visible through the skin.
Thread veins are very common and can be very unsightly, stopping the sufferer from showing off their legs in the summer months. These unsightly veins can be safely and effectively treated with sclerotherapy.
Sclerotherapy involves injecting a liquid agent through a tiny needle directly into the vessel. The solution irritates the lining of the vessel causing it to contract and collapse. The injections are relatively painless as they are performed via a very fine needle, however the sclerosing agent can sting. Sclerotherapy is only suitable for treating leg veins.
It can take between 3-4 treatments at monthly intervals for the veins to fade completely.
